Sex work

Working with sex workers

I’m aware that only a small number of sex workers are out to their therapists. If you don’t feel safe to bring your whole self into the therapy room, you cannot get the most out of therapy. If you fear your therapist’s response to your disclosure, (whether fear, anger or attempts to rescue) this creates even more of a barrier to effective therapy.

Whether your reason for coming to therapy has anything to do with your work or not, I aim to make my practice a safe space for you.

I wrote about sex work on my blog here and also in Lancet Psychiatry.

Sex Work and Psychotherapy conference in 2018

There is a lot of work to be done.

I’ve blogged on this subject
